Power supply (PSU) is an important part of an alarm system or access control system to get a safe and reliable power to the system.
With battery backup up, you also get a safe backup source in the event that mains are missing or mains disturbances. Whether designing a new system or integrating an existing one, it is therefore crucial that the power supply maintains a high quality and performance to ensure the system's operation.
Alarmtech has long experience inmanufacturing and developing power supplies for 12 V or 24 V with battery backup for alarm systems, access control systems and CCTV systems. With own ISO certified factory each component is 100% tested to ensure that the product maintains high quality and performance.
To ensure the quality and performance of the power supplies, these have also been tested and certified by third parties both against the EN standard EN 50131-6 for burglar alarms but also at INTERTEK for EMC and Safety, which means they can be used in alarms and access control systems throughout Europe.
Fact Box
Types of Power Supplies:
PSV Series: EN Grade 3 certified primary switched power supplies designed for security system, burglary alarm, CCTV and access control systems.
PSE Series: Compact primary switched power supplies for smaller security applications, such as code locks, electric locks, CCTV and stand-alone systems.
Key Features:
Output Voltage: PSV provides 12 VDC or 24 VDC; PSE offers options of 12 VDC, 24 VDC or 48 VDC.
Battery Backup: Integrated battery backup in all units ensures continuous operation during power interruptions.
Installation Options: PSV is available in wall or rack mounted cabinets and as standalone modules. PSE features a removable front panel for easy installation.
Operational Monitoring: LED indication on the front panel display the status of operation in both series.
Compliance and Approvals:
PSV: EN Grade2 and EN Grade 3 approved by VdS in Germany; EMC and Safety by INTERTEK in Sweden.
PSE: Compliant with EN Grade 2 standards.
Certified products
Alarmtech has developed a PSV primary switched program for 12 V and 24 V with battery backup. They are third-party Certified at the German test laboratory Verband der Schadenverhϋtung (VdS) for EN Grade 3 which is valid in most European countries. They can then easily get national certifications in most countries in Europe. In Sweden this certification is made by SBSC.
The PSV program is also tested and approved for Safety and EMC by INTERTEK to satisfy the modern Security Industry´s claim for high quality and performance.

Modular power supply system
The PSV modules is a complete primary switched power supply unit with DC output voltages 12 V or 24 V for intruder alarm or access control system. The module can be mounted on a DIN rail or in a metal cabinet. It can operate as a single unit but it can also be connected with one or more units to get more power and compensate for voltage drops in the system and thus achieve higher redundancy in the facility. The PSV modules can operate with or without batteries. The output characteristic of the power supply range follows DIN 41773 charging procedure that allows stand-alone operation. Each PSV module is certified as stand-alone unit but they can also be built in to customer’s cabinets to simplify further approvals.
Wall cabinets
There is a wide range of power supply models in 12 V and 24 V for wall mounting.
Each cabinet has room for one or two batteries depending on the model. The cabinets are equipped with LED indicators on the front panel that show the device's status and any error codes as mains failure, low output voltage, battery and fuse failure. For safe installations, the cabinets are equipped with tamper protection and pry-off switches contact.
Rack mounted versions
There are also power supply units with battery backup for 19” rack mounting in both 12 V and 24 V with space for 2 accumulators. The cabinets are equipped with LED indicators on the front panel that show the unit's status and error codes. For safe installations, the cabinets are equipped with a tamper contact.
PSE - Power supply unit economy version
The PSE is a primary switched power supply unit with battery backup for 12 V, 24 V or 48 V. The PSE power supply is intended for smaller burglary alarm and access control systems. It can also be used for code locks, electric locks, CCTV, emergency lighting and other stand-alone applications. The metal case has LED indication on the front panel to indicate the operation status and space for two accumulators. The case is prepared for an opening contact of the front panel. The PSE is not certified by VdS but it complies with EN Grade 2.
